The runner can be supplied in two constructions, cast or fabricated.
Cast runners are cast in one piece in either S.G. Iron, Stainless Steel or Aluminium Bronze, the material depending on the site conditions.
Fabricated runners are made entirely in Stainless Steel, the runner vanes being formed over templates or cast before welding to central and outer bosses.
Low head Francis turbines are normally cast in S.G. Iron or Stainless Steel. The turbine casings are of welded Steel construction with a very high standard of protection and finish.

250kW are covered in a standard range of runners and casings.
Above 250kW output, we prefer to quote individually for specifically designed units to suit site requirements.
