Control panels
Newmills Hydro can meet any client specification. Our engineers are pleased to advise on specific control systems and configurations for turbine control equipment such as:
Electronic load controller
For plants where water economy is not of prime importance (as in most run-of-river installations). The comparatively inexpensive controller dumps excess output into a dummy load.
This can either be dumped or adapted to some less critical use such as space or water heating.
This type of control is available for all
turbines.
Hydraulic governor
Used where water economy is more important, and a more sophisticated control is required to match output to load by controlling the flow of water to the turbine runner, and for shutting the turbine down.
This type of control is normally used on remote grid locations, and is not normally required where a strong and stable grid connection is available.
Synchronous and Asynchronous Turbine Control Systems
have
a range of control equipment standardised into a modular system, allowing rapid
selection and construction of the control modules into the completed turbine
control system.
