Waterpower has been in use at Newmills Hydro since 1798. In more recent years, this has evolved into the manufacture of of hydroelectricity waterpower turbines and hydroelectricity equipment Pelton Turbines, Francis Turbines, Kaplan Turbines, and hydroelectricity ancillaries including electric fish barriers, trash screens, and fully integrated electronic and mechanical control systems.
Nowadays, Newmills Hydro is home to NHT Engineering, and the tradition of quality manufacture and innovative hydroelectricity solutions is continuing into the twenty first century. At NHT Engineering, we are providing commercially viable, achievable, and cost effective solutions for hydroelectricity engineering, enabling owners and managers world wide to develop and optimise the output of both new and existing hydro electricity sites. Very many waterpower sites long thought to be of little value, can today be commissioned and successfully operated utilising the technology and expertise we can offer.
