Project Feasibility & Design
With over 35 years experience of building and installing turbines NHT have seen all the pitfalls that hydro developers come across. We work closely with civil consultants and builders to ensure that your project runs smoothly and is designed right from the start.
Turbine Commissioning
NHT Engineering can install or supervise the installation of our own or other manufacturer;s turbines. Our team of site engineers have the expertise to commission turbines quickly so that our clients are generating revenue on schedule.
Pump Repair
NHT Engineering can undertake repairs on a wide range of pumps and pumping machinery. Clients include the Northern Ireland Water Service.
Turbine Maintenance
NHT Engineering undertakes maintenance and repair work both on our own machines and other manufacturers. We can manufacture and supply everything from a replacement pin to a new turbine runner.
NHT Engineering has nearly 40 years experience in overhauling old water turbines. Some of the turbines NHT has overhauled are over a hundred years old now and still operating. Major components can be repaired and reused whilst parts like bushes and linkages can be replaced as necessary.
General Engineering
NHT Engineering has undertaken a large range of general engineering projects over the years. Our extensive manufacturing facility and experience allows us to take on project others deem to complex or risky. For example:
- Manufacture and installation of custom hydraulic cylinders for P&O Irish Sea and Stena Line.
- Emergency repair of main ship driveshaft gearboxes for P&O Irish Sea.
- Repairs to 240MW boiler exciters for Ballylumford Power Station.
